The major events planned to be held in 2024 are:
Magazine & Subscriptions evening, February 20th
7:30pm In the King Street Halls.
An evening to renew yearly subscription or just to come along and see what the club does and also collect our yearly magazine.
We also have a guest speaker,giving a talk or presentation.
Tractor Working Day, Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th March
A chance to see that the older tractors are still capable of doing a useful job of work.
To be held on Saturday and Sunday 23th/24th March at Wideford Farm St Ola by kind permission of the Spence family.
Further details will be advertised on Facebook and the press.
Cultivation Day Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th April (weather permitting)
Same location as above working day and a chance to see tractors cultivating land on a competition basis.
The Orkney Cavalcade 19th May
An all day event for cars, motorbikes and commercials covering about 80 miles and taking in some places of interest. Details will be advertised nearer the time
Motorcycle Gathering on Broad Street 15th June
We intend to hold a motorcycle gathering in Broad Street, Kirkwall on the afternoon of Saturday 15th May from 1pm until 5pm. We will advertise details in the Press nearer to the time.
Deerness show 7th July
Club members are invited to attend the Deerness show with various tractors, cars and agricultural implements. This is not an Orkney Vintage club event, so for further details contact the Deerness community association or through the Deerness community centre Facebook page.
Road Run 16th July TBC
Orkney Classic Motor Show 3rd and 4th August
As well as the cars, commercials, tractors and motorbikes we have an indoor exhibition of interesting smaller artefacts and displays by collectors or clubs. We will advertise details nearer the time.
If you want to exhibit a vehicle/engine or anything at the show please complete an entry form which can be found on our website.
Science Festival 7th September (TBC)
Rally held on Broad Street in Kirkwall. Traditionally there is a display of vehicles, tractors and engines. Hopefully, this will include a display of modern electric and alterative fuel vehicles and can discuss where the future of modern motoring will lie.
Road Run September (Date TBC)
This event will be held on a Sunday in September to be advised, and will visit some places of interest before concluding with a meal at a local hotel. Exact details will be announced nearer the time.
